Mata Anjana is tensed as its been a long time that Hanuman has not returned home from the forest. Kesari asks her about the reason for Hanuman being in the forest. She says that she has kept Chhath Puja vrut for Surya Devta and she has sent Hanuman in the jungle to get “Kand mul” for her. Kesari goes in a search of Hanuman in the forest. Hanuman is being troubled by Rahu and Ketu in the forest. Hanuman says to Surya devta that he wants to punish Rahu and Ketu as they are interfering in the vrut of Chhath puja and not allowing him to take his kund mul . Surya Devta says him the story of asur Rahu and Ketu. He says that Rahu has stolen “Amrut” (nectar) during the Samudra manthan. Rahu started drinking the nectar but before the nectar could pass his throat, the lord Vishnu cut off his head with Sudarshana Chakra. But as the nectar had gone down his throat Rahu did not die. From that day, his head is called Rahu and body is called Ketu. Surya Devta says that, he has given the information to Vishnuji. Since then, Rahu and Ketu developed bitter enemity against the Surya Devta. Anjana and Kesari is worried about Hanuman. Anjana prays to Suryadev and does the chanting.
